In
order to open a window of opportunities to practicing engineers, the Institution
offers the postgraduate programme to its Graduates and Corporate Members in selected
engineering disciplines in collaboration with the Birla Institute of Technology
(BIT), a deemed university at Mesra, Ranchi. This programme facilitates the members
to widen their knowledge and acquainting them with new and emerging technologies
to upgrade their competence in the competitive industrial environment. For the information

Postgraduate Diploma Examinations
The Winter
2010 Postgraduate Examination will be held at five venues (namely, Kolkata, Delhi,
Hyderabad, Nagpur and Chennai) during the period October 7-10, 2010. Students are
advised to go through the printed programme (to be despatched to all registered
candidates as on date) prior to filling-up the examination form which is to be submitted
to IEI latest by August 31, 2010.

The Examination Form must be filled-in and signed by the candidate. The candidate
shall give the correct Code Numbers of the Examination Centre, Branch and Subject
(s), in which he/she desires to appear, and the 8-digit postgraduate registration
number in the spaces provided for in the examination application form. The Institution
reserves the right to reject incomplete/illegible/late received examination forms.
A candidate shall
be allowed to appear in more than five subjects at a time. The subject(s) chosen
for the examination should be strictly within the five subjects which the candidate
had opted at the time of registration, or as modified by him/her in writing (see
relevant rule).

NOTE : The bound copies of the question papers
of the Postgraduate Diploma Examinations (for Part I subjects only) from Summer
2001 Examinations onwards can be obtained by sending Rs. 50/- per set per Engineering
Branch (plus Rs. 50/- for postage) through demand draft in favour of `The Institution
of Engineers (India)', payable at Kolkata or from the cash counter at the headquarters
office on cash payment. Similarly, Syllabus of each branch can be obtained for Rs.
100/- per copy including postage. Please do not forget to mention the branch of
engineering while ordering for the old question papers or the syllabus.
