IEI SIGNS MoU
WITH WFEO
The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) has entrusted The Institution
of Engineers (India) with the task of designing, developing,
implementing and maintaining the WFEO Virtual Service Centre (VSC) Portal and Knowledge
Base on the Web. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to this effect between
WFEO and IEI on
02 March 2010
at
Barcelona, Spain
during the WFEO Executive
Board Meeting which was attended by Mr B J Vasoya and Mr R P Gupta, Vice Presidents
of WFEO and Past Presidents of IEI.
The MoU was signed by Ms Maria Jesus Prieto-Laffargue, President, WFEO and Ms Tahani
Youssef Lefebure, Executive Director, WFEO from the WFEO side and Mr Madan Lal,
President, IEI and Maj Gen (Retd) R K Sanan, VSM,
Secretary and Director General, IEI from the IEI side.

The said WFEO VSC Portal and Knowledge Base on the web
is aimed at ensuring a focussed web presence to all National Members, International
Members and Associates of WFEO, apart from various WFEO Standing Committees and
Task Forces on one hand and providing a web-based platform having features such
as Blogs, Forums, Webinars and Webcasts, for a closer interaction amongst them over
the web on the other. The content will be provided by the Editorial Network under
the supervision of the WFEO Secretariat in
Paris, France
. A B2B (Business-to-Business) connection will also be created through adaptors
for inward and outward information sharing and information access.
Mr R P Gupta, Vice President of WFEO by virtue of his
Chairmanship of the WFEO Standing Committee on Technology (WFEO-ComTech) hosted
by IEI, will collaborate in a direct manner with internal and external agencies
to assure the desired services through the Steering Committee appointed by the President,
WFEO and chaired by Mr Barry J Grear, Immediate Past President of WFEO.
